DO YOU KNOW YOUR WORTH?
Read: 2 Timothy 2:14-26
Meditation verse:
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
The way you handle a gift given to you is determined by the cost of the gift and the value you place on it. If someone gives you an expensive and rare watch, you will handle it with extreme care and wear it only on special occasions. If on the other hand, it’s a cheap and ugly watch, you may not even remember to put it on. Similarly, you would only use your expensive dishes when hosting special guests. Do you know that you are worth more than the most expensive gift you can imagine? The bible describes you as a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own special person created to proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. What an honor.
But are you aware of the worth that this confers on you? When you are aware of who you are and the value you carry, you take care of yourself and treat yourself with kindness and respect. According to today’s passage, you flee youthful lusts; pursue righteous living, faith, love, and peace. You avoid foolish and ignorant disputes or quarrels that lead to strife. You shun profanity and every form of iniquity, avoid idle words and gossip, and be gentle, humble, and patient to all.
In addition, 1 Corinthians 6:13-18 states:
Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
So, do you know your worth? How much value do you place on yourself?

Have you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart?
He says in Mathew 11:28, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He longs to give you rest.
Would you like to do so now? Here’s a prayer you can say:
Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.
If you prayed this prayer, send me an email at rockteachingministry@gmail.com. I would love to pray with you personally and send you a copy of my book; ‘Living the Life’ to encourage you as you begin your new life in Christ.
I look forward to hearing from you.
