THE SUFFERINGS OF THIS PRESENT TIME

Read: Romans 8:18-30

Meditation verse:

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18).

As a child of God, you are not immune to pain and suffering. So, you may go through some painful stuff during your sojourn on earth. These are the “sufferings of this present time”. When Jesus Christ was about to leave the earth, He said to His disciples “in the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Jesus Christ did not promise you a life devoid of evil, what He promised is that He will always be with you during you time here and when all is done, you will have a glorious future with Him in eternity.

If you are currently going through difficult times, do not cast away your confidence or lose hope. 1 Corinthians 15:19 says, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable”. There is a glorious future ahead for you. The Apostle Paul said that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Rejoice in this knowledge, keep the faith, and keep going.

Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

IN HIS PRESENCE is written by Oke Chinye.
Have you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart?

He says in Mathew 11:28, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He longs to give you rest."

Would you like to do so now? Here’s a prayer you can say:
Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.

If you prayed this prayer, send me an email at rockteachingministry@gmail.com

I would love to pray with you personally and send you a copy of my book; ‘Living the Life’ to encourage you as you begin your new life in Christ.
