God Made Your Mind A Powerful Tool For Thriving

The mind is the element of a person that enables them to be aware of the world and their experiences; to think and to feel. It is the faculty of consciousness and thought. A person’s ability to think and reason: the intellect.

Your mind is powerful: It is the seat of affect (emotions), mood, thoughts, belief, perception, memory, speech, ego. If the mind is skewed or unhealthy, you’ve got a big problem. When something happens to you, you just don’t react to it. There is a chain of reactions at different levels. You first develop an attitude about what has happened. The attitude you develop affects your feelings and emotions which in turn affect your thoughts. `Your thoughts then affect your behavior and actions which in turn determine your outcomes. Your outcomes will in turn lead to another event. It is always a vicious circle.  Your attitudes and thoughts will always determine how you react or behave in a given circumstance and how you behave will eventually become your habits and your habits will eventually determine the course of your life. It therefore follows that if you want to change the course of your life, watch your attitudes. Watch your thoughts.

You may not be able to control the events that life throws at you, but you can choose your attitude about that event. Nothing means anything except the meaning you give to it and the meaning you give to it is not the only one. The glass can be half empty to one person and half full to a different person at the same time.  Attitude is very important. Everything rises and falls on attitude.  When you encounter events in your life, you embark on a journey immediately; attitudes-feelings/emotions-thoughts-behavior-outcome. As you embark on this journey, remember that you have a choice. You can choose your attitude and that attitude can either be a positive or a negative one. If it is a positive one, it will trickle down to all the other elements and eventually lead to a positive outcome. On the other hand, if it is negative, it will eventually lead to a negative outcome.

Two ladies were in a room having a nice chat. A third lady entered the room and begins to scream unprintable words at both ladies. The first of the 2 ladies wondered if the screaming lady was alright, she thought to herself, “oh she is probably having a bad day”. She chose to ignore the screaming lady. The second lady felt insulted. She got up and began to scream in return at the other lady and of course a fight ensued. The same encounter, two different attitudes about the encounter leading to two different outcomes.

By altering your attitude and mindset, you can choose how to react to adversity. You can also overcome self-doubt, fear or whatever mindset limitations you have.  You can learn how to live a happier and more productive life even in the midst of chaos. You can learn how not to become a victim of everything that life throws at you. Your mind can become your greatest weapon for success or your biggest limitation for failure. It is that powerful.

IN HIS PRESENCE is written by Oke Chinye.
Have you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart?

He says in Mathew 11:28, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He longs to give you rest."

Would you like to do so now? Here’s a prayer you can say:
Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.

If you prayed this prayer, send me an email at rockteachingministry@gmail.com

I would love to pray with you personally and send you a copy of my book; ‘Living the Life’ to encourage you as you begin your new life in Christ.
