BIBLICAL KEYS FOR PERSONAL GROWTH (2)

Read: 2 Peter 1:5-11

Meditation verse:

“If the axe is dull, and one does not sharpen the edge, then he must use more strength. But wisdom brings success” (Ecclesiastes 10:10)

Here are some additional biblical principles for personal growth and advancement.

NEVER STOP LEARNING: It is often said that the day you stop learning, you start dying. Life is a lively process of becoming. Your imagination is capable of a lot more than you can dream. Proverbs 4:7 says, “wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom, and in all your getting, get understanding”. 2 Peter 1:58 says, “but also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Isaiah 54:2-3 says, “enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited. So, if you desire expansion, keep learning.

GET A MENTOR AND UNDERSTUDY THEM: Mentoring is not just a business principle; it is a biblical one. Joshua understudied Moses. Elisha understudied Elijah. Growth and advancement can occur when you follow closely a person who is already where you desire to be. You not only learn the secrets of their success, but you can also be imparted with the same grace that they carry. The bible records that Joshua was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him (Deuteronomy 34:9). But be careful who you decide to follow.

PLAN, PREPARE AND EXECUTE: Motivational Speaker Zig Ziglar once said “people do not wander around and then find themselves at the top of Mount”. Success hardly occurs by happenstance. The accomplishment of any meaningful endeavour requires careful planning, preparation, and execution. Be intentional about taking the steps you need to get to where you desire to go.

IN HIS PRESENCE is written by Oke Chinye.
Have you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart?

He says in Mathew 11:28, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He longs to give you rest."

Would you like to do so now? Here’s a prayer you can say:
Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.

If you prayed this prayer, send me an email at rockteachingministry@gmail.com

I would love to pray with you personally and send you a copy of my book; ‘Living the Life’ to encourage you as you begin your new life in Christ.
