BENEFITS OF BEING IN GOD’S PRESENCE

Read: PSALM 139:1-24

Meditation verse:
“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11).

God’s awesome presence is always with us. The psalmist was conscious of this fact as he said “where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” Here are ten benefits of constantly abiding in God’s presence:

• In His presence you will experience fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11).
• You can obtain mercy and find grace in your time of need (Hebrews 4:16). ‘Mercy’ frees you from the shackles of your past, ‘grace’ is the enabler that propels you to keep moving forward.
• You will receive rest from all your labours and weariness (Mathew 11:28) You can cast all your cares and burdens on Him (1 Peter 5:7)
  You will become bold. When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, they realised they had been with Jesus (Acts 4:13).
• You will cover you with His feathers such that you are preserved from the terror by night and the arrow that flies by day (Psalm 91: 4-5).
• You will receive peace that surpasses all human understanding (Phil 4:6-7)
• You and your household will be blessed. When Obed-Edom housed the ark of God which was a symbol of His presence, the Lord blessed him and all his household (2 Samuel 6:11).
• Your soul will delight itself in abundance that money cannot buy (Is 55:1-2) Lastly, He will be with you wherever you go. (Hebrews 13:5)

Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?

Jesus says in Mathew 11:28; “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, this invitation is for you. Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart; all you need to do is invite Him in, by believing and receiving Him.

Are you ready? Here’s a prayer you can say right now:

Dear Lord, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of grace. I believe that Jesus died to set me free from my sins. Thank You Jesus for dying to save me. Please forgive me for all my sins and come into my heart. Be my Lord and Saviour. Fill me with Your Spirit and enable me to live for You from now onwards, in Jesus’ name, Amen
