WHO DO YOU BECOME AFTER THE STORM?

Read: 2 Corinthians 4:17–18

Meditation Verse:

“If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.” (Proverbs 24:10)

Storms, trials, failures, tribulations, heartaches, and difficulties are all part of human life. Jesus clearly warned in John 16:33:
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Things won’t always go as planned. People will betray you. Opportunities may slip through your hands. Life will stretch you. But the real question is:
Who do you become after the storm?
Do you emerge stronger, wiser, and better?
Or do you come out weaker, bitter, and vengeful?

Let’s consider some biblical examples:

  • Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery. He had every reason to become angry and vindictive. But when he had the power to take revenge, he chose mercy and forgiveness, saying: “You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.” (Genesis 50:20)

  • Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into a fiery furnace for refusing to bow to an idol. But when they came out, Scripture says, “the smell of smoke was not on them.” (Daniel 3:27) They didn’t look like what they’d been through.

  • Jesus, beaten, mocked, and crucified, still prayed from the cross: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” (Luke 23:34)

You may not be able to control how others treat you, but you can control how you respond. Don’t allow pain to make you someone you’re not. Don’t let offense, betrayal, or adversity change your values.

Choose healing. Choose integrity. Choose forgiveness. Refuse to become bitter. Say like Joseph: “You meant it for evil, but God turned it around for good.”

Hebrews 12:1–3 encourages us:
“Let us lay aside every weight… and run with endurance… looking unto Jesus… who for the joy set before Him endured the cross… consider Him… lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.”

Storms are inevitable.
But who you become afterward is your choice.

Have you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart?

He says in Mathew 11:28, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He longs to give you rest."

Would you like to do so now? Here’s a prayer you can say:
Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.

If you prayed this prayer, send me an email at rockteachingministry@gmail.com
