STRENGTH IN SURRENDER
Read: 2 Corinthians 12:9–11
Meditation Verse:
“Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:10 (NKJV)
For many years, I avoided roles and responsibilities that required me to step outside my comfort zone. My familiar refrain was, “This is not for me.” I actively pursued opportunities only in areas where I felt competent and well-grounded. Ironically, invitations kept coming in areas where I felt unqualified, while doors remained mostly closed in the areas I considered my strengths. My default response was to make excuses and politely turn those opportunities down.
Then one morning, clarity dawned on me. God knew my weak areas—and He was intentionally sending those opportunities my way. He wanted me to experience the power of His strength revealed through my weakness. His grace, I realized, truly was sufficient, if only I would lean on Him. It also became clear that God was inviting me to grow. If I stayed only within my areas of strength, I would begin to glory in my own abilities. Worse still, I would never develop the areas where I needed growth. But God, in His wisdom, uses our limitations as classrooms for transformation.
God shows up mightily when we acknowledge our inadequacies and depend fully on Him. When we admit our weakness, we make room for divine help. As Paul declared, “I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Today, I embrace opportunities that once felt overwhelming. Like the Apostle Paul, I have come to understand this powerful truth: when I am weak, then I am strong.
What about you? Do you find yourself making excuses or rejecting roles because you feel unqualified? Remember—His grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in your weakness.

Have you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart?
He says in Mathew 11:28, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He longs to give you rest."
Would you like to do so now? Here’s a prayer you can say: Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.
If you prayed this prayer, send me an email at rockteachingministry@gmail.com
I would love to pray with you personally and send you a copy of my book; ‘Living the Life’ to encourage you as you begin your new life in Christ.
