SCATTER YOUR SEEDS ON THE GROUND
Read: MARK 4:26-32
Meditation verse:
“But when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade” (Mark 4:32).
God’s principles cannot be broken, and His Word contains timeless truths for successful daily living. One of these is the principle of sowing and reaping. No farmer expects a harvest without first planting seeds. In today’s reading, Jesus likens the kingdom of God to a man scattering seed on the ground. The man simply throws his seed in different directions and goes about his life—sleeping, waking, and waiting. Mysteriously, the seeds sprout, grow, and eventually become a mighty plant that provides shade and shelter for the birds. He does not fully understand how it happens, but he trusts the principle at work.
This is how God works in our lives. Whatever you do sincerely for the Lord—sharing the gospel, encouraging others, giving generously, serving faithfully—will grow in ways you may not immediately see. Your efforts may seem small, weak, or unnoticed, but God’s power backs you up, and His Word is the true agent of growth. Ecclesiastes 11:5–6 reminds us: “As you do not know the way of the wind, or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, so you do not know the works of God who makes everything. In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand; for you do not know which will prosper, either this or that, or whether both alike will be good.”
As this new month begins, keep scattering your seeds—acts of love, kindness, service, and obedience. Do not grow weary, for in due season, you will reap a bountiful harvest. Remember, as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest will never cease.
Say this prayer:
“Lord, help me to faithfully sow seeds of love, service, and obedience this month. May every seed I scatter for Your name’s sake yield a harvest that glorifies You, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.
