KINGDOM PRINCIPLES FOR BUSINESS SUCCESS (1)

Read: ROMANS 12: 1-2

Meditation verse:

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2).

God’s standards of operation are different from those of the world. In the next couple of days, we will be looking at some kingdom principles of application for business success.

In the first instance, ask God for a business idea or vision. He knows the work that you were created to do. “Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:4-5). You are most likely to succeed in what you were made for.

Develop a business plan for what you want to accomplish. “For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish, lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’?” (Luke 14:28-30)

Avoid wrong partnerships. Entering a business partnership with someone who does not share your values is dangerous. There will always be areas of conflict. 2 Corinthians 6:14 admonishes us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Jehoshaphat, king of Judah went into a shipping business alliance with the wicked king Ahaziah, and all their ships were destroyed (2 Chronicles 21:35-37).

Be willing to start small. Do not despise the day of small beginnings. (Zechariah 4:10). A small start does not imply a small finish.

Build a competent, skilled and dedicated workforce. The success of every business lies in its people. King David had a great army. He surrounded himself with great warriors who were skilled, determined and physically fit (1 Chronicles 12:1-40). Engage, encourage, develop and reward your people accordingly. Your people are your greatest assets.

IN HIS PRESENCE is written by Oke Chinye

Have you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart?

He says in Mathew 11:28, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He longs to give you rest.

Would you like to do so now? Here’s a prayer you can say:

Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.

If you prayed this prayer, send me an email at rockteachingministry@gmail.com. I would love to pray with you personally and send you a copy of my book; ‘Living the Life’ to encourage you as you begin your new life in Christ.

I look forward to hearing from you.
