Jump In When God Stirs You
Read: John 5:1–8
Meditation Verse:
“For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.” — John 5:4
The year may be drawing to a close, but God is not done with you. There are still visions that can be birthed, businesses that can be built, books that can be written, and souls that can be saved. Heaven is not bound by the calendar; God can do more in your life in the remaining weeks than you have seen all year.
Some years ago, I was preparing to close my office for the year when I sensed a strong stirring within me to host a workshop. It made no logical sense at that time—I had mentally wrapped up my year. But the prompting persisted, and I obeyed. That workshop turned out to be deeply impactful and life-transforming. Looking back, I realize I would have missed a major assignment and blessing had I ignored that stirring.
The Holy Spirit often stirs our hearts through an unexplainable restlessness, a persistent nudge, a deep desire, or a sudden impulse to move in a certain direction. But the key is this: what you do after the stirring matters. God’s stirrings are invitations, not instructions. They require a response.
In John 5:2–4, the Scripture describes a pool at Bethesda where multitudes of sick and afflicted people waited for the stirring of the water. Once the angel stirred the pool, the miracle happened only for the person who stepped in immediately. The blessing followed action, and the timing mattered.
The Holy Spirit is gentle. He will not push or force you. When He stirs your heart and you do nothing, the moment passes—and the loss is always ours, not His. This is why Mary’s instruction at the wedding in Cana is so powerful:
“Whatever He says to you, do it.” — John 2:5
So, what is God stirring in your spirit today?
Where do you feel His pull—however subtle?
What assignment has been tugging at your heart?
Don’t delay. Don’t overthink it. Don’t talk yourself out of obedience.
Jump into the pool immediately.
And as you do, may the Lord bring wholeness, clarity, and breakthrough in the very area where you need it most.

Have you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart?
He says in Mathew 11:28, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He longs to give you rest."
Would you like to do so now? Here’s a prayer you can say: Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.
If you prayed this prayer, send me an email at rockteachingministry@gmail.com
I would love to pray with you personally and send you a copy of my book; ‘Living the Life’ to encourage you as you begin your new life in Christ.
