HOW DESPERATE ARE YOU TO CHANGE THAT SITUATION?

Read: Luke 8:43-48

Meditation verse:

“Now a woman having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any” (Luke 8:43)

The woman with the issue of blood had this condition for so long, it had become her identity. She had suffered for so long and her condition had drained not just her vitality but her resources. After twelve years, she must have been drained, broke and exhausted.

When a situation that does not serve us lingers for a long time, it becomes an ‘issue’; a thorn that chokes or drains life out of you. It could be a financial burden, health issue, marital concern, or barrenness. It may be a situation that has to do with your spouse, children, family, job, or health. Whatever it is, you need to be desperate enough to do whatever you need to do to get rid of it, else it would remain with you. This woman was so desperate, she was determined to press through the crowd, get to Jesus and touch the hem of His garment.

Zacchaeus was tired of being seen as the bad guy, he knew he needed to encounter Jesus, but was too short to see Him through the crowd. So, he climbed a sycamore tree (Luke 19:1-10). The four friends were so desperate to change the situation of their paralyzed friend that they climbed the roof of the house and made an opening to let him through when they couldn’t get through the door to reach Jesus (Mark 2:1-4). In each of the above stories, Jesus was impressed by the display of their faith.

Are you facing a situation that seems to have defied all odds? God specializes in taking care of impossible situations. But how desperate are you to reach Him? Speaking about the persistent widow, Jesus said to His disciples “when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth? With faith and persistence, you can change any situation.

IN HIS PRESENCE is written by Oke Chinye.
Have you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart?

He says in Mathew 11:28, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He longs to give you rest."

Would you like to do so now? Here’s a prayer you can say:
Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.

If you prayed this prayer, send me an email at rockteachingministry@gmail.com

I would love to pray with you personally and send you a copy of my book; ‘Living the Life’ to encourage you as you begin your new life in Christ.
