BUILD YOUR SPIRIT
Read: Ephesians 3:14-19
Meditation verse:
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit” (Jude 20).
Proverbs 20:27 says “the human spirit is the lamp of the Lord that sheds light on one inmost being”. Your spirit is the inner voice that speaks to you. It guides, informs, and convicts you. It exposes and reveals hitherto unknown things to you. Several years ago, I sat beside a lady in a conference. During the discussion session, this lady stood up and told the organizers of the conference that she would one day be an integral part of the program. Everyone wondered how this would be as she had no prior connection to the organizers, but today, she sits on the board of that organization. How could she have known? I believe strongly that this lady spoke from her spirit, not from her understanding. Man is a spirit, possessing a soul and living in a body. Our spirits reveal who we are meant to be and guides us towards that path.
You must be very intentional about building up your spirit, else you would not be in tune with it to hear when it speaks to you. How can you begin to build your spirit? Here are a few things to begin with.
Start spending more time in God’s presence, praying in the Spirit. Jude 20 says’ “but you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit”. The more you pray in the spirit, the more your spirit is built up.
Take time to be still to quieten the rational thinking brain through meditation and reflections. Meditate on the word of God. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”.
Cultivate the habit of writing down your thoughts. Journaling and self-reflections reveal what is in your spirit and enables you to see the footprints that you are leaving on the sands of time.

Have you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart?
He says in Mathew 11:28, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He longs to give you rest."
Would you like to do so now? Here’s a prayer you can say:
Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.
If you prayed this prayer, send me an email at rockteachingministry@gmail.com
