THE SMELL OF FIRE WAS NOT ON THEM

Read: DANIEL 3:8-30

Meditation verse:“…and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them” (Daniel 3:27).

Today’s story is one we are all too familiar with. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were cast into a furnace for refusing to bow down to King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image. What was the result? Nothing, they did not burn nor was the smell of fire on them.

The year 2020 is one we will not forget in a hurry. The corona virus pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns dealt a massive blow to the whole world. Millions of lives were lost, businesses folded up, several jobs lost. Emotional and mental health issues reached an all-time high.

God’s promise to you is that when you pass through the waters, He will be with you; and the rivers will not drown you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you (Isaiah 43:2). It is possible to pass through a difficult period and emerge better and stronger. You do not have to remain a victim of whatever year 2020 threw at you.

Fix your gaze on the Almighty and on His promises. And He will lead you through the aftermath of the covid-19 pandemic, unto victory. One thing is required though; that you not bow to the golden images of the world. Compromising God’s standards in any form in order to make ends meet, amounts to bowing down to the golden image. It is possible to bow without even realizing it. Examine your ways this day.

Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?

Jesus says in Mathew 11:28; “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, this invitation is for you. Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart; all you need to do is invite Him in, by believing and receiving Him.

Are you ready? Here’s a prayer you can say right now:

Dear Lord, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of grace. I believe that Jesus died to set me free from my sins. Thank You Jesus for dying to save me. Please forgive me for all my sins and come into my heart. Be my Lord and Saviour. Fill me with Your Spirit and enable me to live for You from now onwards, in Jesus’ name, Amen

If you prayed this prayer, please email me at rockteachingministry@gmail.com and let me know about it. I would love to pray with you personally and send you a copy of my eBook; ‘Living the Life’ to encourage you as you begin your journey with Jesus.
