PRESS THROUGH THE CROWD

Read: Luke 8:43–47

Meditation Verse:

“He who observes the wind will not sow. And he who regards the clouds will not reap.” (Ecclesiastes 11:4)

The woman with the issue of blood had every reason to give up. The crowd around Jesus was thick, and she was weak. But she pressed through—dragging herself forward until she touched the hem of His garment. And in that moment, she was healed.

Zacchaeus couldn’t see Jesus because of the crowd and his short stature. So he ran ahead and climbed a tree—and Jesus called him by name and chose to stay in his house that day.

The four friends couldn’t bring the paralyzed man through the door. So they climbed the roof, broke it open, and lowered him down. Jesus healed and forgave him.

Blind Bartimaeus cried out loudly despite the crowd trying to silence him. His persistence made Jesus stop—and he received his sight and followed Him.

In all these stories, there were limitations—dense crowds, physical weaknesses, blocked doors, public shame. But they didn’t wait for perfect conditions. They acted with bold, creative faith.

Instead of giving up, they:

  • Reached for the hem

  • Climbed a tree

  • Broke a roof

  • Shouted louder

And God honored every one of them—giving them more than they asked for.

  • Zacchaeus hosted Jesus and became a changed man.

  • The woman became a public testimony.

  • The paralyzed man received both healing and forgiveness.

  • Bartimaeus not only received sight, but also followed Jesus.

Closed doors don’t mean it’s over.
They may just mean: “Look for another way.”

So what about you?
What do you do when life blocks your usual route?
Do you retreat? Or press through?

Don’t wait for perfect timing or easy access. Move in faith, adapt, and press through. Your miracle might be waiting on the other side of that obstacle.

And when you do… God will exceed your expectations—because He is a God of much more.

Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.
