KEEP SHOWING UP

Read: John 5:1–9

Meditation Verse:

“Jesus said to him, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk.’” (John 5:8)

One Thursday morning, I woke up overwhelmed by intense dizzy spells. The dizziness was so severe that I remained in bed through the morning and afternoon. As I lay there, a wave of thoughts rushed through my mind: “Cancel the meeting.” “Send a message of apology to the women explaining you’re unwell.” “Ask someone else to step in.”

And then I heard something quietly but clearly in my spirit:
“Show up—even if you can’t put on your camera, even if you can’t pray out loud—just show up as you are.”

So I got up, still feeling woozy, made a cup of tea, and slowly got ready. I showed up for our weekly Prayer Rain meeting for The Fulfilled Woman Fellowship (TFWP). That gathering turned out to be powerful and deeply impactful. I shared my story, and I believe God used my weakness to strengthen someone else that day.

No matter what you’re going through, keep showing up—even if it’s in weakness, even if it’s not perfect, even if all you can offer is your presence. If I had stayed in bed, I would’ve missed the opportunity to bless someone who needed that exact moment of encouragement.

In John 5, Jesus said to the lame man:
“Rise, take up your bed and walk.”
That bed represented years of affliction and immobility. But Jesus didn’t carry the man or remove the bed—He told him to pick it up and move forward.

Likewise, your “bed” could be your illness, past trauma, emotional fatigue, or disappointment. Sometimes, God won’t remove it instantly—but He’ll give you strength to carry it and keep going.

So rise.
Even if you’re limping.
Even if it’s slow.
Just keep showing up.
Because one day, that consistent step may be the very moment when everything shifts.

Have you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart?

He says in Mathew 11:28, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He longs to give you rest."

Would you like to do so now? Here’s a prayer you can say:
Dear Jesus, I believe that You died to save me from all my sins. Today, I invite you into my heart and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and help me to live my life for You.

If you prayed this prayer, send me an email at rockteachingministry@gmail.com

I would love to pray with you personally and send you a copy of my book; ‘Living the Life’ to encourage you as you begin your new life in Christ.
