LAY ASIDE THE WEIGHT

Read: Hebrews 12:1–2

Meditation Verse:

“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

There was a time I felt emotionally and physically weighed down by a troubling concern involving a close family member. The burden was so heavy that it began affecting my peace. Then, one morning, my eyes landed on 1 Peter 5:7: “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” In that moment, it felt like a weight lifted from my shoulders. I sensed God reminding me—“You’re carrying a load that’s not yours to carry. Cast it at My feet.”

We often try to carry more than we were designed to bear. But Scripture reminds us that our lives are not our own.

• “You were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:20)

• “I have been crucified with Christ… the life I now live, I live by faith in the Son of God.” (Galatians 2:20)

You now belong to Christ. He is your Master, and He is fully responsible for what concerns you.

Colossians 3:3–4 says:
“For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
That means, before anything can get to you, it must first pass through Him.

So why are you still holding on to anxiety, fear, or burdens He’s already paid for?

Lay them down.

Hebrews 12:1–2 calls us to action:
“Let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus…”

You’re not called to run this race while dragging emotional baggage behind you.
Release it.
Surrender it.
Cast it at His feet—He cares for you.
